Shadows, Light, and Stories: Capturing the Prior Performing Arts Center
Arriving early.
It’s my ritual before any photo shoot. It gives me time to gather my thoughts, maybe scope out the location, or just have a moment to myself. But this time, at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, that habit became a gift.
I was on campus last November for an event photo shoot, but I took this opportunity to photograph a beauty of an architectural creation.
The Prior Performing Arts Center stood before me, a stunning work of art by Diller Scofidio + Renfro. A gem
I had only 30 minutes. Not enough, but I will take what I can get.
My eyes widened, and a goofy grin spread across my face. I seized the moment to delve into its dramatic lines and striking forms. The summer light carved deep shadows, perfectly complementing the building’s bold geometry and weaving a stunning interplay of shape and mood.
I couldn’t step inside, but even from the exterior, the architecture spoke volumes. It was a story of innovation, artistry, and ambition waiting to be told.
Through my lens, I captured those stories. Each photo became more than an image—they became a celebration of design, light, and vision.
Every architectural project has a story to tell—whether it’s a masterpiece like the Prior Performing Arts Center or a quiet, hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Through careful observation and a deep appreciation for design, I strive to capture that story with authenticity and artistry. If my vision resonates with you, I’d love the opportunity to explore your project through my lens.
