HERE ARE MY OFFERINGS

I love making images, so it’s hard to narrow down my offerings. After years of trying different things, I find myself returning to the following categories because that is where my strengths lie, and what I can consistently provide at a high level.

I will come to your project (because I know you can’t bring it to me), and photograph the areas that you worked on, whether that is a whole home or just an addition. If you’d like exteriors, I encourage you to plan that shoot for dawn or dusk.

I enjoy disappearing in my studio and creating a scene and crafting the light to evoke the right look and feel to best represent your brand. Or, we can get some models, find an awesome location (I know of several), and show off your product in use in a more documentary/lifestyle way.

Photographing people having a great time at your event is a great way to capture both candid and posed photos to show off the venue, the people, and all the work you put in to create this event. I have photographed music festivals, conventions, corporate presentations, and other similar events, and am eager to turn my lens towards your gathering!

HEY, THAT’S ME!

I’m Patrick & I LOVE photography.

I was raised in a household where both my parents were blind. From an early age, I felt a deep gratitude for my ability to see and to experience the world visually. I do my best to find the beauty in even the simplest of things. In high school, I picked up a camera and my appreciation for the visual world grew, and I pursued photography with vigor.

I went to The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA where I majored in photography and Sociology. After graduating, I got a job as a photographer and digital imaging technician at The Art Institute of Chicago. After a few years, I left to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail (a long and wonderful story), then landed a job at Yale as a photographer, then after that, a job at Harvard as a photographer and supervisor.

When the job at Harvard ended, I decided to pursue my passion even further and start my own photography business; that’s how you ended up here!

Back in 6th grade, I visited this awesome exhibit all about Frank Lloyd Wright's work. It hit me then and there – I wanted to be an architect! But you know what? Turns out, I didn’t have the patience and dedication for that work. However, I soon realized that my knack for photography could still play a huge role in supporting your kind of creativity and design work.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

While things that are expensive are not inherently better, when you work with professionals in any field, you are not just paying for the high quality product that they provide, you show support and appreciation for their years of experience and problem solving skills that ensure you are in the hands of someone who can handle your job and deal with all kinds of things that might come up.
I will post roughly edited images within 3 business days of the photo shoot. Typically, it will be only 2 business days. From there, after you have made your picks for which photos you want, those will be delivered within 5 business days of you submitting your choices.
Certainly! I really enjoy photographing the final completed project, but it is a valuable marketing tool to have me come during a project to show how you work, show the progress, and show off some of the products used that may never be seen (like irrigation systems or membranes for a green roof). Typically, I would photograph for about an hour, and would provide up to 30 photos within 2 business days of the photo shoot. As for before and after photos, I am happy to consult your site plan and figure out how to best capture the best angle to show off the positive impact of your design.
Time and deliverables.
For a half day shoot, I am able to photograph around 3-5 spaces, and would include 5 edited photos.
A full day includes around 6-10 spaces photographed and 10 edited images.
Typically, I shoot around 3 angles of each room, and a few detail shots.
Yes, a little. Figuring out the best time of day for an exterior shoot sometimes means shooting within a small window of time where things are looking their best. Additionally, inclement weather may mean a last minute rescheduling of the shoot.
Typically, I am most available two weeks from today. With the sometimes uncertain timelines with these projects, folks tend to contact me for a shoot that will be ready next week. On occasion, I am available on short notice. I know how small the window can be between finishing the project and your client moving in, so I will do everything I can to fit your photo shoot in.
Oh my goodness, yes! My favorite exterior shots come from dusk shoots. Combining colorful skies with a warm glow coming from all the lights inside the home makes for stunning images!
In college, we reviewed and critiqued images regularly. One of my instructors frequently asked: “do you want to climb through the frame to be in this moment?” I keep that in my mind often, doing my best to lead the viewer through a space by using leading lines and space for them to explore the space. If you’ve gotten far enough to read this, I think my photos have done something to make you want to see more. They will likely have the same affect on your potential clients.

I always retain copyright of the photos, but you (and you alone) have rights to use these for marketing, advertising, social media, and a variety of purposes intended for self promotion. Additionally, if our photo shoot is of a residence, the homeowner is permitted to have any or all the photos strictly for personal use. It is not permitted to sell or share any images to a third party. Lastly, if any images are used in a third party publication, I must be appropriately credited for the photo.
For each photo shoot, you will be provided with a usage rights agreement with all the details.
Most definitely! They are allowing me into their home, it’s the least I can do! They are allowed use of these photos for personal use only, not for sharing with a third party or publication.
Most definitely, and by doing so, it makes the project more affordable for each added person. Adding them before the photo shoot is ideal so I can be sure to keep their needs in mind.
Each additional person adds 30% to the base cost and yields 5 more photos to share amongst the group.
For example, you want to add the interior designer and the countertop people to a half day shoot of a kitchen, master bath, and master bedroom. For one person, it would be $1,400 and you would get 5 photos. Adding those two people would add $420 per company, making the total $2,240 for 15 total photos, making that $746.67 per company.
If anyone associated with the project wants any photo, they must work with me directly. Feel free to share the gallery with others, but just not any final photos.
Yes, and anyone associated with the project can have any edited photo for $150 for wide angle shots, and $50 for detail shots. If the desired photo is in the edited gallery, they can purchase directly from the gallery. If in the ROUGH gallery, just let me know which one(s) you want, and I will edit those within 5 business days.

Clean and declutter: Tidy up each room and remove any unnecessary items or clutter that could distract from the architectural features. Ideally, I could recommend a few different folks to clean your home on short order.
Organize spaces: Arrange furniture and decor to highlight the layout and flow of each room, ensuring that key architectural elements are visible and unobstructed.
Maximize natural light: Open curtains and blinds to let in natural light, which can enhance the brightness and ambiance of the space. Consider scheduling the shoot during the time of day when your home receives the most natural light.
Check for repairs: Address any visible signs of wear and tear, such as chipped paint, scuff marks, or damaged fixtures, to ensure that your home looks well-maintained and presentable.
Stage key areas: Pay special attention to areas that are focal points of your home, such as the living room, kitchen, and master bedroom. Arrange furniture, accessories, and decor to showcase these spaces in their best light.
Highlight architectural details: Emphasize unique architectural features, such as exposed beams, vaulted ceilings, or intricate moldings, by ensuring they are clean and prominently featured in the photographs.
Enhance curb appeal: If applicable, spruce up the exterior of your home by mowing the lawn, trimming bushes, and adding potted plants or flowers to enhance curb appeal and create an inviting first impression.
Clear outdoor spaces: Remove any outdoor furniture, toys, or other clutter from patios, decks, and outdoor living areas to create clean, unobstructed views of the exterior architecture.
Coordinate with the photographer: Communicate with the photographer in advance to discuss your goals, preferences, and any specific shots or angles you'd like to capture. Provide them with access to key areas of your home and any relevant information about the property.
Final touches: Prior to the photography session, do a final walkthrough of your home to ensure everything is in order and camera-ready. Make any last-minute adjustments as needed to ensure your home looks its best for the shoot.
