I’m doing something right.

I don't normally share personal photos, but feel compelled to share my gratitude and pride from something that happened with my kids over the weekend.

Frozen.
A solid lake, blanketed in snow becomes my kiddos’ playground.
My daughter—testing the ice with borrowed skates for the very first time. Unsteady, unsure. Falling. Laughing. Rising again, determined to try again.
My son—brushing away the snow to excavate treasures below.  Face hovering an inch over the frozen surface, discovering ice bubbles, perfectly preserved.
Wonder.
Eyes wide, he asks for my phone to make some photos.
She perseveres. He discovers.
And me?
Standing there, watching.  Smiling.  Feeling like I got something right.
Here’s to more of these moments.
Many more.

Below are the photos I made while we were there.
